Torres del Paine, Patagonia Part 2: the upper crescent of the “o” circuit trek.
Day 1: Camping Central to Camping Seron We head out, relieved at the near-averted crisis of missing our very first reservation of the trek. We look at the map from the Ranger showing us the way to the Seron trail. She warned us that because the trail is flooded, there are many side-trails. She instructed us that it is essential to keep our eye on the main trail so that we don’t get lost. Great. We start following the instructions from the ranger to find the trek to Seron. We take a few turns, no luck. No signs. Keep going, check out the map again, no luck. Come on! Where is the stupid trailhead!? We wander toward the hotel with a crowd hoping someone can point the way, even though we know we are heading in the wrong direction. We run into the Colorado bros again. They are heading up to the Torres del Paine base, about a 7h hike. They greet us like old friends and start singing a song together. They are high. I am getting frustrated and start lash...
